Meet Our Team
A longtime resident of Montgomery County, Dr. Peter Tong graduated from the
University of Maryland Baltimore
College of Dental Surgery with his D.D.S. degree, after receiving
his Bachelor of Science from the
University of Maryland at College Park.
Dr. Tong is dedicated to providing the highest quality of care in a gentle and comfortable manner. He attends extensive seminars, workshops, and lectures to stay on top of the latest dental techniques and materials available in modern dentistry. He obtained advanced training at the world renowned Dawson Center for Advanced Dental Studies. Dr. Tong has completed over 1200 hours of continuing education. In July 2008, he was awarded the Fellowship of the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD). This commitment to excellence allows him to utilize the newest proven techniques to maintain the best dental care for his patients.
Dr. Tong is a devoted family man and enjoys basketball, aquariums and movies. He is a Major in the Maryland Army National Guard and a fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry.
Dr. Laudan Izadi obtained her D.D.S. degree from the
University of Maryland Baltimore College of Dental Surgery.
She is proficient in all aspects of general dentistry and also has extensive
experience working with geriatic, pediatric, and medically-compromised patients
through her clerkship at the Levendale Nursing Home and externship at
Kernan Hospital Dental Clinic.
A caring dentist who is passionate about providing and maintaining the highest level of dental care, Dr. Izadi is a member of the American Dental Association, the Maryland State Dental Association, and the Southern Maryland Dental Association. When not taking care of her patients, Dr. Izadi enjoys drawing and painting, swimming, going to the museums, and travelling.
Our Office Manager Mara Ellis is a wife, a mother of three, a youngest sister,
and an auntie. Born in Olney, raised in Frederick, and a resident of Gaithersburg
for the last eight years, she enjoys weekends that include family outings,
playing Scrabble and other group games with friends and of course as a true Marylander,
eating crabs. If you have a second to chat, you'll find Mara to be a resource for
delicious recipes.
She's a great fit for Dr. Tong's new office because she has over fifteen years dental office experience. She has received many certificates for continued education coursework including Financial Effectiveness, Dental Coding, Invisalign, and OSHA/HIPAA Compliance. She possesses a strong committment to providing quality customer service with a Rockville smile, of course!
Born in Lima Peru, Judith Suarez-Guinea studied at the
National University of San Marcos School of Dentistry for five years
while working as a dental assistant. In 2000 she left Peru come to the United States
to be reunited with her husband. She and her husband with their two children now reside in Damascus.
Judith shares Dr. Tong's mission of providing the finest dental care for a lifetime of the best possible oral health. Judith has over ten years of experience in dental assisting. She is a Certified Dental Assistant.
Kisha Doleman is originally from West Virginia where her family still resides.
She completed her Dental Assistant Training in Springfield, VA at ACT College
after deciding that a career in graphic design was not for her. She is a proud
owner of a mischievous Bichon Frise named Pepe and creates lively clay figurines
in her spare time. Her goal in Dr. Tong's office is to make the patients feel
comfortable as well as to educate them about oral hygiene and how it affects
their overall health. Kisha is a Certified Dental Assistant.
A Tennessee native with deep southern roots, Kelly Parish began her career in dentistry
in 1981 when she became a certified dental assistant. After 17 years of dental
assisting, she decided to expand her committment to dentistry by becoming a dental
hygienist. She graduated from Alleghany College
dental hygiene program in 1998. Since then she has been providing outstanding care to
all of her patients. She is a member of the
American Dental Hygienists Association, the
Maryland Dental Hygiene Association, and the
Montgomery County Dental Hygiene Association.
Kelly enjoys long weekends filled with good food, watching movies, and attending WVU football games with her daughter Katie who attends college there! As a true southerner, she will make you feel right at home in our office with her southern hospitality.
Jan Mattingly is a registered dental hygienist and a native Washingtonian.
She is a graduate of Alleghany College
and practices full-time in Montgomery County. She is a member of the
American Dental Hygienists Association, the Maryland Dental
Hygiene Association, and the Montgomery County Dental
Hygiene Association.
She participates in continuing education and specializes in treatment of periodontal disease. She enjoys working with families and children of all ages at Rockville Smiles.
Jan is happy to be a member of the friendly, caring staff at Dr. Tong's state-of-the-art practice in downtown Rockville.
Angela received her Bachelor of Science from the
University of Maryland and graduated from
Alleghany College Dental Hygiene Program in 1984. A Maryland native who grew
up in Camp Springs, she now resides in Pennsylvania with her two sons who keep her
very busy with Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, and PTA's. She extends her big heart every chance
she gets by doing volunteer work which she enjoys. In her downtime, she relaxes by camping
or hiking.
Baby Tong is our office spokesbaby. He has this to say about
Rockville Smiles and the staff: Dr. Tong is my dad and has been taking care of
my teeth since I got them. He helps me brush and floss everyday. Brushing
and flossing isn't exactly high on my fun list, but my daddy says that it
keeps my teeth and gums healthy. He is very gentle and patient.
